LinkDevi ("we," "us," or "our") operates the linkdevi.com website and the LinkDevi URL shortening platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our Service.
By using LinkDevi, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). If you sign up via a third-party provider (Google, GitHub), we receive your name, email, and profile picture from that provider.
1.2 Link and Usage Data
When you create a short link, we store the original destination URL, any custom alias, tags, expiration settings, and other configuration you provide. We also record metadata about your usage of the Service, such as the number of links created and API calls made.
1.3 Click Analytics Data
When someone clicks a short link, we collect anonymized analytics data including:
- IP address (anonymized and not stored in raw form)
- Approximate geographic location (country, region, city)
- Referrer URL
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device type
- Date and time of the click
- UTM parameters present in the URL
1.4 Payment Information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number. We receive and store only a payment token, the last four digits of your card, card brand, and billing address for invoice purposes.
1.5 Automatically Collected Information
Like most web services, we automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our website, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and pages visited.
2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyze how our Service is used. For detailed information about the cookies we use, please see our Cookie Policy.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit your ability to use certain features of the Service.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:

- Filter bot traffic from analytics to ensure accurate click data
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, billing receipts)
- Send optional marketing communications (only with your consent, with easy unsubscribe)
- Improve and develop new features for the Service
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service (e.g., Stripe for payments, cloud hosting providers, email delivery services).
- Workspace Members: Link data, analytics, and activity logs are visible to members of the same workspace based on their assigned role.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LinkDevi, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Analytics
Click analytics are a core feature of LinkDevi. When end-users click a short link, we collect anonymized data to provide analytics dashboards to link owners. IP addresses are processed for geolocation purposes and are not stored in their raw form in analytics databases.
We use self-hosted analytics infrastructure (ClickHouse) and do not share raw click data with third-party analytics providers.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Click analytics data is retained according to your plan tier. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), encryption at rest for sensitive data, secure password hashing, rate limiting, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
